Accessibility

Village Underground is an unseated venue for most of our events. However, if you have accessibility needs that require a seat, then we can provide you with an allocated space on our viewing platform for live music events. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide a viewing area for DJ led events.

We do not sell ‘accessible viewing area’ tickets, just general admission but you will need to contact us prior to arriving at the venue to arrange an allocated space. Please email either  ty@villageunderground.co.uk or amelie@villageunderground.co.uk or call between Monday and Friday 10am – 5pm on 0207 422 7505. If the event is sold out we cannot sell extra tickets.

We offer a 2 for 1 ticket policy for personal assistants. This arrangement is made through the venue and not the ticketing agencies, please contact us for more details.

Details of local transport links and distances of stations and stops from the venue can be found on our FAQ page.

  • - Local Parking

Blue bay parking can be found reasonably close to the venue - there is an online map here.

People with disabilities are offered priority entry but again please call prior to arrival to arrange this.

  • - Once inside VU

Once inside there are no steps and there is permanent ramp access to the accessible viewing area which you will be directed to by a member of staff. There are great sightlines to the stage from the viewing areas. Please note however that there is not level access to all areas of the venue.

  • - Smoking

If you use a wheelchair and want to go outside to smoke please inform a member of staff and we will give you access to the rear exit.

Important Information

  • - Accessible Toilet

We have one dedicated accessible toilet. This is located at the front of the building next to the cloakroom area. It is accessible via the ramp from the main floor.

  • - Accessible Bar

We do not have an accessible bar however we will provide a bartender if required.

  • - Venue Evacuation

In the event of an emergency where we need to evacuate the building, we ask that wheelchair users remain in the designated viewing area until assistance is given from a member of staff.

  • - Deaf and Visually Impaired Customers

Visually impaired customers are more than welcome to use the accessible viewing area if they would like to. Guide dogs may be allowed into the venue depending on the type of event. Alternatively, we are able to accommodate one guide dog in our production office for the duration of the event but they will have to be happy to share this space with our very friendly English Bull Terrier, Biba.

  • - People with Photosensitive Epilepsy

We use strobe and flashing lighting in the venue and if you need any further information about this please ring the venue on 0207 422 7505 and ask to speak to Ty or Amelie.
