Expose the truth
If you lost your home,

who would help you?
This is a question facing more and more people as the recession takes its toll on people’s jobs and homes. But what is the truth? If you approach your local authority for help, will you tick the boxes that mean the Government safety net will catch you if you become homeless?
Crisis will be launching a campaign at Crisis Hidden Gigs to expose the truth.

What is Crisis Hidden Gigs?
Crisis Hidden Gigs is a series of music gigs, hosted by Crisis, the national charity for single homeless people. The gigs will take place in central London throughout May and June 2009. Top acts will play in intimate, unusual spaces, making for a unique musical experience.

There’s also a twist. The venues will remain ‘hidden’ until 24 hours before the gig, when a text or email will be sent to the ticket holders. There’s a good reason for this. Crisis wants to put a spotlight on the growing issue of ‘hidden homelessness’ in the UK. By withholding details of the venues until the day before, Crisis wants people to understand the precarious nature of hidden homelessness – often moving from place to place, and often not knowing where you may end up each night.
