Following the day’s events at Battersea Park and sister events in Paris and Rome, Noise of Art and Trees For Cities continue their Metiss’age activities with a night of electronic music, surround visuals, costumed contemporary dancers and immersive clubbing.
Making a rare London appearance, Peter Kruder rose to prominence as half of Kruder and Dorfmiester in the mid Nineties. Since then he’s continually contributed to dance music’s mutations. A pioneer of deep house and broken beat, he’s as revered amongst the dub-step community as he is amongst acid jazz heads.
Si Begg is a similarly restless musical soul. An influence in UK techno, his sonic sub bass experiments helped create the sounds of sub lo and dub step, while his interventions into house and disco have won him acclaim across the club music spectrum.
Ashley Beedle is one of London’s most unique producers. A leading light in the Ballistic Brothers collective, his legion projects and pseudonyms (including Black Science Orchestra, Dark Star, Delta House of Funk and chart topping X Press 2) have seen him continually re-define house, neo-soul, reggae, acid jazz and psychedelic funk.
Dec shoes consists of a lead singer with Indian/ African roots and DJ/ producer Preppy Le Pieu. They create a sultry, dirty and raunchy take on deep house and techno.
Deep House producer Portfolio cut his teeth at Singapore’s Zouk club. Having recently moved to London, his new sound has become darker and deeper and has been picked-up for compilations by Steve Lawler, amongst others.
Completing the immersive club experience and matching the sonic breadth of the night’s club sounds, there will be surround visuals, performance art and spectacular contemporary dance pieces provided by Noise of Art’s regular contributors Your Mum, Overlap and The People Pile, plus an alien anti-fashion show by artist Mark Scott Wood.
Trees For Cities regular Rupert the Brewer will be bringing his collection of smouldering funk to the table and Noise of Art founder Ben Osborne will deliver a trademark round of roof bumping dance music.
Money raised at the event will go to Trees for Cities to plant Metiss’age trees in inner cities.
Metiss’age events are organised Noise of Art in London with sister events in Paris and Rome, organised by Global Warming and Explora.
Metiss’age is supported by the cultural programme of the European Union.
