In the late 17th century, when the theatres were closed for religious reasons, many alehouses were turned into so-called Musick-Houses, where musicians gathered to play intimate concerts for an enthusiastic and beer-thirsty audience. An Alehouse Session brings Spitalfields a 21st century take on this phenomenon bringing you humour, anecdote, drinks and glorious music in an informal setting.
Friday 24 June
