Management Accountant

Type: Full time, 42.5 hours per week

Village Underground and EartH are searching for a Group Management Accountant to work alongside both the Group’s Financial Controller and Assistant Management Accountant, to manage the day-to-day business accounting and to maximise the financial efficiency of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
Compiling the monthly management accounts, including journal posting, and having monthly meetings with Group Financial Controller
Processing weekly and monthly payroll, year end and filing P11D’s with HMRC
Raising sales invoices and managing debtor balances
Processing of settlement documents and liaising with both internal and external parties to ensure all information is complete
Processing of nightly takings for the group companies
Reconciliation of all bank accounts
Updating flash reporting documents for the business on a daily basis
Quarterly VAT returns
Compiling information for year end stat accounts – liaise with external accountants to produce the final documents
Assist with annual budget setting with Financial Controller

Additional projects
Ad hoc projects for management

Effective communication skills especially when discussing financials with non finance personnel
ACCA/CIMA part qualified or qualified by experience
Proficient in Excel with excellent attention to detail
Experience of using Xero accounting software for both accounting and payroll
Ability to work well in a small team and manage own time well
Ability to make continuous improvements to administrative processes
Someone with a hands-on, proactive approach; taking personal responsibility and initiative to prevent or resolve problems
Experience working within the arts and culture sector would be advantageous
Experience of working with public and private subsidies for the arts is desirable
