Superstition is teaming up with Gabber Eleganza’s ‘Never Sleep’ label to bring the London leg of a series of curated parties to Village Underground on the 22nd of May. Gabber Eleganza is an open and ever-changing project conceived by Italian artist and DJ Alberto Guerrini, who currently resides in Berlin. What initially started as an online archive, the project quickly flourished into a multifold research forum. One of the key figures in the hardcore revival renewed interest, the aim of the project is building up dialogues on the sonic and aesthetic side of Hardcore and post-rave culture, within the context of the contemporary club music. Through printed publications, installations and live performances. Most notably, the now infamous Hakke Show which has been presented at Club2Club, Berghain, Hyperreality, Oval Space, Horst, CTM Festival & more.
We are also happy to welcome back Varg2™, one of Sweden’s most talented artists renowned for his mighty live sets. Varg, aka Jonas Rönnberg is the co-owner of Stockholm’s Northern Electronics label with Abdulla Rashim aka Antony Linell. Covert transmissions, alongside penetrating statements from techno’s core, are stacked adjacent to self-assertive live performances with an agility and depth of focus rarely summoned so instinctively. With a still-rising presence, Varg makes sense of the decadent overdose privy to underground music at this time.
South London based musical collective, promoter and NTS residents Body Motion are also supporting the bill. The duo can usually be found playing in derelict MOT garages and underpasses flying from genre to genre so will feel right at home in our cavernous warehouse.
Completing this incredible line up will be a very special guest that will be announced soon. Stay tuned.
